Alpha Rodrick POV
I stroked her hair gently, and she raised her head, "Do you miss Charlotte?"
I giggled, "Charlotte? What makes you think I miss her?"
She sat up, pushing her hair behind her shoulder, "I don't know, I just felt like asking." She held my hands, "You know, she was your mate, and it's been months since you heard about her, or saw her, aren't you worried?"
I shook my head, my palm on her shoulder, "We were mates, but there was nothing between the both of us. She was a pauper, a maid, and above all wolfless."
She moved my hands away from her shoulder, "If she weren't wolfless, would you have accepted her?"
I giggled, my arms crossed across on my chest. I had no idea what she's up to this time around, but whatever it was, I won't play into her hand this time around.
"Why are you mentioning Charlotte, it's been almost ten or eleven months since we saw her? What's with these questions?"
She moved away from the bed, stood at the edge with her arms folded on her boobs, "Will you answer or not? If she weren't wolfless, would you have considered getting married to me?"
I exhaled, got off the bed, and walked over to where my shirt lay. I wore it, and walked over to the door, "Gwen I am not in the mood for this, like I said earlier, there's no need to discuss Charlotte, she's long gone, probably dead..."
"It still doesn't matter if she's dead, tell me would you have loved her? Was I just a replacement?" She walked towards me, her palm on the door.
I bowed my head, "Are we really going to do this tonight?"
"Yes, let's do it. It's time we spoke about this. I want to know if I was just a replacement, or did you find me worthy to be the Luna of this pack?"
I nodded, took a step closer, "You want to really know right?"
"Yes, I want to."
"How about we start with how you treated her before the night I rejected her as my mate. You never cared about her, you, and your mum did terrible things to her.
You made her life miserable, you made where she called home, hell, why? You couldn't stand the fact that she was my mate to be, not like I give a damn about Charlotte, I didn't.
But you guys...you know what forget it, I won't stand here to reply to your tantrums. You wanted to be the Luna of this pack, well you have gotten what you want. I see no reason why you should be worried about someone who's long dead."
She shoved her way to the front of the door, "You won't leave this room except you give me the answers I need. Am I just a replacement or what?"
I stepped back, my hands slowly forming a fist ball, "Don't get on my nerves Gwen, don't let me compel you."
She stepped away from the door, her boobs pressing against my chest, her shoulders squared against mine. "Go ahead, do it, compel me. Isn't that what you always do? Why are you informing me before doing it?
I knew it, I knew I was just a replacement. You never loved me, you just wanted someone to solidify your reign as the Alpha of this pack."
I chuckled, taking a few steps back, clapping my hands, "Wow, it's come to gaslighting me just because I refused to answer your questions?... As I said earlier, there's no need having this discussion, you wanted to be the Luna, you are already the Luna.
You wanted Charlotte dead, you wanted her gone, she's dead, she's gone. I am sure there's no way she would have survived the wild being wolfless. Your parents wanted more power, and control, they have gotten it because you are the Luna of the pack, what's the fuss about?"
"What? What do you mean by my parents wanted more power, and they have had it since I became the Luna?" The look on her face was confused.
"What do I mean?" I chuckled, walked back to the bed, and sat down.
She walked towards me, her hands on her shoulders, "Yes, what do you mean?"
I nodded, grinning, "This is interesting, it seems like I wasn't the only one who was played. You mean you had no idea your parents used you... Sorry, your parents are using you, your dad to be specific."
"Don't say such about my parents, that's a hard allegation," her voice quaky, and low, her breath heavy.
I chuckled, my arms in the air, "Fine, I am not going to say anything. You can go ask your parents, I am sure they will be able to look you in the eyes, and tell you the truth like I just did. Or maybe they wouldn't."
I got on my feet, my shoulders fell, "Gwen as I said earlier, I don't have time for all these tantrums tonight, take the car key, drive over to your parents' penthouse, and ask them. I hope you don't cry your eyes out before you return."
I walked past her, our shoulders brushing against each other, I paused at the door, "And yeah, that reminds me. I will be back home drunk, you don't have to wait for me. Better still returns tomorrow, I am sure whatever they are going to tell you would make you cry uncontrollably.
It won't be ideal to drive in such situation. We have lost Charlotte to probably the rogues, it won't be nice losing you."
I blew a kiss at her, "Take care my love," I walked out of the room, and exhaled deeply.
I brought out my phone, pulled a call across to Muna, "Meet me at the usual location, it's urgent."
"Uh, I am in the midst of work, the Luna will cut off my head if she finds out I left the work undone."
"That's none of my business, get someone to fill in for you, I need you right now, it's damn urgent."
"Fine, just hold on, I will be on my way soon."
