I didn’t expect to see him.
Not this morning. Not here. Not with his mom of all people.
But, of course, fate would throw that at me just after I managed to smile, actually smile, and forget about what happened, for just a little while.
The second I saw him standing there in the doorway, every nerve in my body went on high alert. My heart started racing in my chest, and my breath caught in my throat.
