Lindsay's Point of View
Vampires are gathered in a loose circle, all around me. Their expressions ranging from curiosity to open suspicion as they stare at me.
I stand in the center, my posture relaxed, but my eyes stay sharp, looking for any sign of danger.
Lucien makes his way through the circle, slowly walking towards me.
"Loyalty is a funny thing, Lindsay. You say you’ve turned on your pack. But talk is easy. Time to prove it."
