Sienna's POV “Where is my son?” his mother asked coolly, her gaze sliding past me into the apartment. “He’s not back from work yet,” I replied after a brief pause. She clicked her tongue softly. “Are you going to keep standing there, or do you intend to invite us in? Courtesy is clearly not your strong suit.” I stepped aside without protest, I didn’t trust myself to speak without sounding harsh. They walked in as though the house belonged to them, heels clicking against the polished floor, and Megan’s suitcase wheels humming behind her like a bad omen. Megan brushed past me, deliberately grazing my shoulder. She didn’t apologize but gave me a look of triumph. I closed the door slowly. “Is Eric expecting you today?” I asked, turning back to them. “He didn’t mention anything to me.”
