ANNABEL'S POV The agonizing scream that tore through the chamber echoed my internal torment as I watched Jacques fall victim to a treacherous trap. The sight of him bleeding, the life draining from his body, struck a chord deep within me. Thomas, sensing the weight of my despair, enveloped me in his arms as tears flowed uncontrollably.
