ANNABEL’S POV I couldn't help but grin at Thomas's unwavering support and declaration. As I looked at him, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride. "That's my man," I thought, grateful for his steadfastness and the love that bound us together. Thomas smiled at me as if he could hear the words I said. "You have changed," I heard Lombard say and I couldn't help but frown. I thought he had gotten over this love-hate for Thomas. Thomas's grin widened, and he responded to Lombard's remark, "Change can be a good thing, especially when it leads to happiness." I could feel Thomas's hand on the small of my back, providing reassurance. Lombard's disapproval seemed inconsequential compared to the love and acceptance we shared. "People evolve, Lombard," I added, meeting his gaze with confidence.
