I sat on the edge of the bed, gazing out of the window as a whirlwind of thoughts churned within me. The doctor's suggestion hung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over my mind. I fervently hoped that what my instincts whispered wasn't true.
The prospect of an impending pregnancy felt like an unexpected twist that came out of nowhere.
