CHAPTER FIVE
“Do you know the Petcroff family?” The Chairman asked as Liam sat.
Liam was not interested in this conversation. Of course, he knew the Petcroff family. They are one of the wealthiest in the country and they have multiple political connections. Besides, he knows Linda too well, which was the reason he deliberately avoided the meeting with her.
“I heard you didn’t meet Miss Linda for the date,”
“Yes, something came up”
“I met with her parents and we have concluded.” The Chairman picked up his cup of coffee and sipped. Liam adjusted on his chair.
“What conclusion?”
“We believe you two fit together. Your marriage will help strengthen your position and aid us politically.”
“Oh, hell no!” Liam shouted.
“She is the best woman to stand by your side.” The Chairman replied.
“Are you that desperate to get me married?”
“I want you to be responsible,”
“I am responsible.”
“No. You couldn’t even meet her up for a date, how is that responsible or gentleman-like?”
“That was because,” Liam paused as he thought of what he could say. “I was with my fiancée last night. She, uh, got into an accident.” He blurted.
