CHAPTER FOUR Olivia struggled to stand to her feet. There was an excruciating pain in her ankle as she made attempts to do so. “Are you okay?” Liam asked again as he tried to hold her hands. Olivia brushed his hands off. “Don’t touch me,” She said still trying to get up. “Ma’am, please,” Liam said in a pleading tone. “Let me help you.” Olivia chuckled. He didn’t recognize her. If she wasn’t in a hurry, this would have been her moment to take down this Denvort, who destroyed her self-esteem. “I have to go,” Olivia said. Liam helped her to stand on her feet, Olivia groaned as she staggered. “You hurt your leg, let’s get you to the hospital.” Liam held her by the waist. “Get your hands off me!” Olivia screamed. Liam raised his hands. She was one difficult, but beautiful lady. “I am just trying to help.” He responded as he looked around noticing the people that were watching them. “I am okay, I don’t need your help.” She tried to walk, but it was painful. “I have to go,” “Please, let me take you to wherever you have to go.” Liam insisted and ran to his car. He opened the passenger’s seat door. Olivia scoffed and looked at him. Why was he acting nice? “I insist,” “Hopewood Hospital,” Olivia said as she managed to enter the car. Liam closed the door behind her. If this was a way to escape the blind date with Linda Petcroff tonight, he’ll gladly take her wherever she wants to be. Olivia quickly opened the door as they arrived at the hospital. The moment she stepped out of the car to walk, she fell to the ground. Liam quickly ran to her. “I knew you hurt your leg. I will carry you in now.” He said as he lifted her from the ground. This was a surreal moment for Olivia, but she couldn’t live in it. Her mind is consumed with Asher’s emergency. She feared for what it could be and she prayed Asher was not about to leave her alone in this world too. “Wait,” She said as they got to the front desk. Liam stopped. Liam enjoyed being the knight to save this damsel in distress, but he wasn’t enjoying how she was ordering him around. “Olivia Parker.” She said to the nurses at the desk still in Liam’s hands. Olivia Parker?! Liam looked at her with questions in his eyes. Is this the same Olivia Parker, with messy hair, bad fashion sense, and no qualifications? The look she gave him in return answered his questions. “Yes, please come with me. Asher’s doctor is expecting you.” One of the nurses said as she came out of the desk. Liam dropped Olivia quickly. Olivia fell. “Are you okay, ma?” The nurse squatted by Olivia. Olivia nodded. She fired Liam with killing glares and he shook his head. He was disgusted, he couldn’t believe that for a second there, he thought she was beautiful and hot. What did she do to herself? A plastic surgery? She can’t be this beautiful naturally. “Please, take me to Asher’s doctor. He said there was an emergency.” Olivia said. “Are you sure you don’t need to check your leg?” The nurse asked again. Olivia tried standing. “Please, I need to know what’s going on.” Liam rolled his eyes. Who was this Asher that she would ignore her health and rather be in pain? Maybe he is the only man that can ever love her and so she is willing to go to lengths for him. He looked at Olivia and the nurse as they struggled to get her up. He gritted his teeth and then, swiftly lifted her from the ground in his arms. “Put me down!” Olivia protested. Liam ignored Olivia as he followed the nurse to the Doctor’s office. The nurse knocked on the door before she stepped in. She ushered them inside, while Liam carefully dropped Olivia on one of the chairs opposite the Doctor. “Miss Parker, are you okay?” The Doctor asked as he observed how Liam carefully dropped her. “Yes, I am. How is Asher? I was called about an emergency.” Olivia asked hurriedly. The Doctor looked at Liam and raised a brow. Olivia turned to Liam. “Excuse us, please,” Olivia said gently. Liam frowned. He wanted to know what the fuss was all about, especially the fact that Olivia was ignoring her health for this Asher guy. I am just curious. He told himself. “How about your leg?” Liam gazed at her feet. “I am fine,” Olivia replied. “Miss Parker, is everything okay?” The Doctor asked concerned. “She got into an accident on her way here,” “And who caused it?” Olivia fired back at him. “Let’s get you treated,” the Doctor said standing up. Olivia felt choked, she was just concerned about her brother right now and she wanted to know what was going on. She slammed her palm on the table. The Doctor paused, and Liam looked at her. Olivia panted. “Doctor, please, what is wrong with my brother?” Brother? Liam looked away from her. The Doctor returned to his seat and Liam took it as his cue to step out. “Miss Parker, I am sorry for the emergency call. Thankfully, we’ve been able to resolve it. His brain went into shock and he had a cardiac arrest.” “Oh, my!” Olivia gasped. “He was doing well last week, you said it yourself.” “I am sorry, but these things happen. He has been moved to ICU and he will remain there for a while.” Olivia nodded. She wishes everything could just come to an end. She missed Asher, she missed her parents. “Everything will be okay, all right?” The Doctor assured and Olivia nodded. “Let’s check your leg before you see him.” Liam was in the waiting room when Olivia showed up. Her left foot was wrapped in elastic bandage. “That looks painful,” “It’s just a sprain. Nothing serious,” Olivia replied. “I want to go sort out my bills, so you don’t have to wait anymore out of guilt. I’m fine.” Liam scoffed. How dare this ugly beautiful duckling talk to him like that? What guilt? All she has been doing since the accident was telling him what to do. Nobody tells him what to do and definitely not this unqualified terror. “I did that already.” He responded and passed the receipt to her. Olivia snatched the receipt and saw he had deposited $100,000. That settled all her debts and future bills for Asher. “Why did you do this? I never asked you to.” Olivia challenged. “I believe a thank you should suffice,” Liam retorted. “I am going to pay you your money,” “Oh, please. Even in a thousand years, you wouldn’t be able to pay back. I didn’t do it for you. I did it for me. I don’t want you going to the press to say the almighty Liam Denvort crushed your legs and couldn’t pay for damages.” Liam responded. “Almighty Liam Denvort, I can’t believe you. You are something” Liam smirked and began to walk away. “I will pay you back one way or the other,” Olivia raised her voice as he walked away. Liam smiled without turning back.
