"Mrs Rittel, I had a very pleasant time," said Elgin, about to leave.            “So much the better, Elgin, I'm delighted. Come back when you want, you are welcome.”            He shook my father's hand and said goodbye to Millie and May warmly before we both stepped out into the yard. We walked towards his SUV, silently.
