Just when we had exchanged words of assurance, she held my hand to ask me, “Promise me that you wouldn’t give up on me?” Primarily, I felt bad that she had to ask of something so minute like being her friend. Secondly, the pity that I held for her only got intense. Perhaps I wouldn’t have felt that way if I had been able to help her in front of the senate earlier.That made me pat her head and assure her, “I’m never giving up on you. I need you to relax a little.”  She readily agreed and I smiled gently to see her still appearing a bit worried. She, however, didn’t want to worry me. So, she stretched her lips into a smile and then wished me goodnight.  Then, I decided to stroll back to my quarter. Just when I entered, I found Lillian perching on my bed and glaring curiously at my face. S
