Chapter 3

SLAP

Sophia came and held Ivy's father, Victor. "Victor, please don't". Victor shoveled her hand away and slapped Jay again. Jay just stood there and took his slaps.

" I thought of you as my own son. I took care of you after your parents died. BUT WHAT DID YOU GIVE ME BACK ? Humiliation". Jay shook his head and tried to explain "Uncle please listen to me". "DON'T" "Just disappear from my life. I don't want to see your face again".

Victor walked away saying all he wanted to say. People started to murmur and left one after one. Sophia looked at Jay. "Why did you do it, Jay ?". Jay looked down. "You know why I did it". "Still you should have given me a hint about what was going on". Jay just stood there looking down.

"Do you know why Victor didn't approve of their marriage ?" Jay tilted his head and looked at her. "Why ?". Sophia sighed "What is the use of talking about this now ?" "Just leave". Sophia went away wiping her tears.

Ivy's family is a prestigious family in the small town they live in. Town people really respect and come to Victor when they have problems. Jay was Victor's driver son. Jay and his parents got into an accident. Jay escaped from it, but his parents died. After that, Victor took him and Sophia loved him as their own son. But Jay never took it for granted and tried to be a good person like Victor.

He was intelligent and had a chance to study abroad. But he refuses to leave the town and opens a small hardware store, and he helps Victor and Sophia with their work. Jay was in love with Ivy for a long time. But he never told her how he felt because she thought of him as his big brother and best friend.

Now he has lost everything to help Ivy with her love. He just sat in his store and stared at the wall blankly. He took a deep breath and looked at time. 'Did they get married ? If they did, why didn't she contact me yet ?'. Take his phone out and check if there is any message or call for him. But he didn't get any calls. Jay dialed Ivy's number and waited for her response. But she didn't respond to any of his calls. 'Is something wrong ? Why is she not picking up my calls ?'.

Jay didn't know the decision he took now was going to ruin everything.
