I had the vague memory of being run over by a bus. Had I been ten when the accident happened? A rolling ball; a foolish younger version of me running into the street after it; Grace screaming and then the next thing I knew I was a pancake on the asphalt. It took about five stiches and ER doctors before I regained consciousness. Right now, I felt as shitty as I had back then; or even worse. I peeled my eyes open but closed them right after because the lights were too bright. A headache thrummed at the base of my skull, and my limbs felt like they were made of lead instead of bones.
