“Would you like to see the upstairs?” Bev asked. I wasn’t so sure that I did. Susan’s bedroom was up there. How many families had lived here since I had? How many daughters had grown up here? I followed the Realtor up the wooden staircase to the second floor, even though she could never know the house as well as I did. When we reached the top, we passed by Susan’s old room, and I purposely looked away. I wasn’t ready to sneak a peek at how it looked. Bev led me to the master bedroom. Another TeleSkin covered the wall where my dresser and writing desk used to be. Julie’s closet had been completely removed. The room opened up much wider. “Where’s the closet?” I asked. “I don’t know. I’m not sure if there ever was one.” I had the urge to tell her that there definitely had been a closet
