New Members

Hours later we emerged from the Emmeratte Alpha office. Alpha David has been stripped of his title, forced to submit and transfer his pack to his younger brother Donald by order of the Werewolf council. We were all called as witnesses. He was awaiting the Kings verdict to whether he'd face bannishment or death. I asked for the death penalty. Ex Alpha David was not the type to learn his lesson and live out his days quietly. As long as he was alive, I believed he would hold a vendetta against me. Of course his family asked for mercy and banishment professing their belief he could change and had learned his lesson. *insert eyeroll here* The new Alpha Donald was not happy. He had been deceived by his older brother, convinced he was officially challenging Alpha Augustus for his pack and lands. He had been heavily involved in designing the renovations of their new combined territory and thought it all a foregone conclusion that it would all go according to plan. We also let them know we had brought with us their deceased pack members. Alpha Donald mindlinked his medical staff and some warriors to help unload the bodies under Dr. Burrows supervision. As compensation for breaking the peace treaty I had asked if I could offer all the unmated she wolves a place in our pack. ~ *earlier discussion in the office* ~ "You were the ones who broke treaty with us." "Not on purpose!" Alpha Donald retorted hotly. "Still, it was done, unknowingly or not, and if you want the peace treaty to remain between our packs, reparations must be made." Alpha Donald grumbled and rubbed his hand over his face then turned to look directly at me. "What do you want Adiera?" "That's Alpha Adiera to you" I snapped back, "and with our pack numbers now further reduced I need more pack members." I paused and tapped my lips. "I would like to offer all of your unmated of age she wolves to become members of the New Moon pack." "Offer?" He looked at me quizzingly "You are letting them choose?" I looked back at him void of emotion "Yes of course, I'm not here to take anyone by force." He arrogantly smirked at me obviously thinking that he would get out of this deal lightly. The truth is he was. But I was trying to be smart about what to claim for damages. He had just lost a brother. I didn't want my claim of damages to add extra tension between our packs. "I'm interested to know, are there any warriors amongst your she wolves that are unmated?" I asked him. Alpha Donald snorted loudly. "There is no such a thing as warrior females in our pack" saying with disgust in his voice. "In our pack our women know their place and embrace it." He looked down his nose at me. It was hard not to show my disgust upon hearing his narrow minded opinions. I rose to my feet, and the rest of our side of the table did the same. "Well, if you are in agreement then how about we get this done so we can head home?" Alpha Donald seemed a bit flustered by my bold actions but I didn't want to give him time to think and lose out on gaining new members for our pack. He led us out through the packhouse to a deck overlooking a lovely paved courtyard. He had mind linked the entire pack asking for any she wolf over the age of 18 and who had yet to find their mate to meet up with us there. I was pleasantly surprised with how many women were gathered. Alpha Donald smiled, but not in a pleasant way as he spoke to them. "Ladies, Alpha Adiera has a proposition for all of you. The choice is yours and no repercussions will be made against you or your families. This is to settle a debt between the New Moon pack and our own." He then gave the floor to me. I looked out at all the hesitant women and met their eyes with a smile. "She wolves of the Blood Moon pack! I am here to extend to you all an offer in joining the New Moon pack. We have availabilities across the board for training, on the job placement or access to scholarships to study in selected fields. I am going to sit at that table over there," pointing to an unused table out of the way. "Please come and introduce yourselves to see if this is something that would interest you." My brother mind linked me they were going for a tour of their training facilities so Stella and I could chat to the ladies without the boys being in our hair. An hour later I had the names of 28 she wolves potentially joining our pack. I was pleased as it was more than I'd hoped for. I will forward their names and hear back from Alpha Donald tomorrow with his approval for their transfer. We looked over our notes and I was already thinking of positions our new additions could take. June, one of our youngest on the list, had been denied training to be a nurse just because of her status as an omega! Ridiculous! I told her I'd be happy to fund her training. I'm sure our pack Dr would be happy to have an extra set of hands in the clinic. Some of the older ladies that had their familes grow up and move away, expressed interest in being involved in our pup care facilities. A lot of them asked about self defense classes and warrior training. They all seemed pleased that as a pack we encouraged our women to train. "So much for knowing their place and embracing it" I smirked to Stella via mind link. I was excited to get to know and evaluate the new members! I left to go round up the boys. I wanted to get home. I needed a run to let off some steam. Dealing with too many Alpha males at any one time always made me drained. I was looking forward to getting back and enjoying a nice quiet dinner in the safety of New Moon. ------------- After the run and a hearty meal, I thought sleep would come easy... but as I lay in bed, my brain kept churning ideas for a new pup care building... What if I could set it up like a second pack house? The older single ladies could have their own room and share a bathroom like the warriors did at the regular pack house. Any orphans could stay on premises as well. They would have their own kitchen so they could do their own prep and bake cookies with the kids. They may want to even stay for meals ... I could get Chef Margo to meal plan and share the extra shopping and menu with another trained kitchen hand. Double the work and double the hands to do it so my staff weren't overwhelmed. I'd have to get together with my crew and ask their opinions. With that thought, I drifted off to sleep.
