Business proposal

Ohmygosh! I need a coffee!

After finding out I was carrying I severely cut down on my coffee intake from 6-8 cups per day to one. I now only enjoyed a single cup of coffee before I ate breakfast.

I made my way into the kitchen thinking only of my hot deliciousness in a mug.

"Morning Luna ... I mean Alpha!" Margo smiled and handed me my cup.

"Come to Mumma! Mmmm, thanks Margo" I bent down and gave her a kiss on the cheek and she playfully swatted me away with a smile on her face.

I grabbed my oats and sat down to eat.

"Adiera ...?" Ben started, but I held up my hand and pointed to my cup.

I had a busy day ahead and needed my coffee before anyone invaded my brain with business.

He chuckled knowingly.

"Just thought I'd give you a heads up, the office phone has been ringing all morning."

I groaned, as I finished up my coffee.

"I wondered how long it would take the vipers to harass me."

MeiLee looked at me questionly "Vipers?"

Ben snorted. "Yeah, my 3rd son with buck teeth heard the devastating news, that you no longer had an Alpha to make every decision for you. So, I am benevolently allowing him to make haste to your side, to bind himself to you, as your chosen, to save you from distress milady!" and finished off with a mocking bow.

We all laughed.

"I wonder how many resumes and accompanying glamour shot photos you've been emailed?" Stella looked at me with pity.

"I guess I'm about to find out!" I said in an extra fake chipper voice. I took my dirty dishes into the kitchen then headed up to the office with Stella right behind me.

"Want to look too in case one of them are your mate?" I teased her.

"I'd rather a female mate," she looked at me and waggled her eyebrows.

"Stop it!" I hit at her playfully. "I don't want to start something with you then be murdered by your jealous mate! Knowing my luck she'd be 50 shades of cray cray!"

Stella and I had grown up training together since we were both 5 years old. Back when we were 17 our hormones and curiosity got the better of us, and we'd made out a few times, but we both decided to wait for our mates. I was so glad we had. Once that mate bond kicks in, everyone else pales by comparison.

I hadn't thought about Stella like that in years...

My breath hitched as she came up close behind me and goosebumps erupted on my flesh as she put her lips against my ear, "I've always fantasised about having hot s*x with a pregnant lady."

I moaned and clamped my thighs closed.

"Get away from me you naughty girl! I have too much to do!"

She moved away from me laughing, knowing what she'd done to me, but also that I was right.

I opened my emails. I got the flight details from King Xander and mind linked Mike when he had to leave to pick Verona up from the airport.

Then for the next 2 hours I read through so many emails ranging from wanting casual hookups to proposals of marriage!

I did look through the attached photos, just in case any of them was second chance mate... but started laughing when I opened a dic pic.

Of course Stella had to come and see what I was laughing at, and the next thing I know Ben and MeiLee busted in the door wanting to look too!

MeiLee shrugged, "Meh, I've seen better"

"Of course you have baby" Ben purred at her kissing his mark on her neck.

"Oh yeah! Yours isn't too bad either I suppose." MeiLee shrugged with an unimpressed look on her face.

Stella and I laughed at Ben's hurt pouty face and I gave MeiLee a high five.

"I don't understand why sending that was necessary?" I griped. "Now every time I see Alpha Jax at functions I'm going to think of his pierced p***s and be embarrassed!"

I'm sure I was red faced even thinking about it. The others just laughed at me.

"So, any potential chosen mates?" Ben asked serious once again.

"To be honest, I'm hesitant in entertaining the possibility. I'm already pregnant with Gus' baby. I can't see any other possessive wolf wanting to give up his chance for his own heir in favour of raising another's."

The others nodded in agreement.

Maybe I'd visit the subject again after I'd given birth so everyone knew what was at play.

I sent a quick reply to his email, same as all the others, thanking him for contacting me but not being interested at this time.

"While I have you guys here... what do you think of building a second pack house for the pup care facilities?"

I pitched to them my ideas, and they each gave me the green light. I made myself a note to contact the building crew my Dad recommended me.

I needed to eat.

"Let's go get some lunch guys, Mike should be back with Verona soon."

Just as we had all sat down, Mike walked in holding hands with Verona.

"Alpha Adiera, let me introduce you to Verona Sparks my mate." Mike said with a big smile on his face gazing down at her.

I pulled Verona in for a hug. "Welcome to the New Moon pack Gamma Verona Sparks!" She too looked super happy about finding her mate.

"Congratulations Mike." I pulled him in for a hug too and Verona growled at me.

"I'm so sorry Alpha Adiera!" she looked flustered.

"Just Adiera is fine Verona, and no offense was taken. I know how possessive our wolves can be." I said to her smiling.

"Thank you Adiera."

"Did you contact the King yet to let him know you've found your mate?"

"Not yet. I wanted to talk to Mike first." She gazed up at him lovingly.

"Why don't you two grab some lunch then take the rest of the day to talk?"

"Thanks Adiera" Mike nodded.

"Yeah, "talk"" Ben said to Mike and waggled his eyebrows at him.

Verona let out a giggle. They looked so cute together! Verona was of average height at 5'7" built like a warrior, muscular with broad shoulders, but she looked almost delicate next to Mike's 6'5" frame who had the build of a bear. He was an amazing Gamma. Intimidating AF.

I hoped Verona would stay here but it depended on if she was needed in her own pack. I'm sure they would let me know once they decided.

We finished eating then started orchestrating the set up outside for our welcome ceremony.

It was almost done when I got a mind link that Alpha Donald was requesting permission to enter pack grounds with our new members.

I left the others to finish up and made my way out the front with Stella, Ben and MeiLee and some of our omegas to greet our guests.

Alpha Donald stepped out and I greeted him with a firm handshake.

"Alpha Donald. Welcome to New Moon. Will you be staying for the ceremony?"

"Thank you Alpha Adiera, I won't be, but is there somewhere we can talk?"

"Yes of course Alpha Donald. Come up to my office."

"Ben and MeiLee please welcome our guests in my stead. I hope not to be too long."

I headed up to the office with Stella in tow.

"I wonder if this is going to be another marriage proposal" Stella mind linked me.

"Geez I hope not" I am sure she heard my internal eye roll.

"Alpha Adiera, you know my Beta Thomas."

I shook his hand and we all sat.

"I have a business proposition for you that would hopefully benefit both of our packs."

I thought it would be something that I would shoot down after a polite 'no thank you', but I was actually intrigued by Alpha Donald's business proposal.

He wanted me to become his prime supplier of wolfsbane. We had it growing in one of our massive green houses at the back end of our territory.

Being part elf I had the gift of a green thumb. To think I first started planting it as I thought it was pretty!

So many extra safety precautions had to be made when growing it in such large quantities; hazmat suits, chemical hose down rooms, and our industrial strength ventilation systems. It was toxic to humans and supers alike!

The whole plant had so many uses, the roots, stem, leaves, the flowers and even the seeds, could all be used in countless ways in apothecary.

I was regularly approached by numerous supernaturals wanting to purchase my thriving plants. After being vetted, they had to sign a contract before I would sell it to them, making sure it was for their own personal use and not for nefarious purposes.

I was already supplying my brother with wolfsbane extracted oil, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to start expanding it further as a business option.

"Alpha Donald, were you interested in the plants themselves, or would you prefer the extracted oil option?"

His eyes widened in surprise. "I would normally buy the dried leaves to make 'tea' for when we needed it. But I'm assuming that the oil option would be a lot more potent?"

"Yes. Very much so. 1 drop in a litre of water will be sufficient to lose your wolf for a couple of hours."

He shared a surprised look with his beta.

"Would you like to purchase a bottle to try? If you are happy with it, we can supply it in larger amounts. There is also a contract you need to read through and sign before you buy."

I went over to my wall safe and unlocked it. I came back and put a 15ml bottle on the table in front of him.

"$150. It takes 120 plants to make this sized bottle. 100% pure. Nothing else added. I would recommend using it in a well ventilated area, wearing gloves and a gas mask, because the fumes alone in this concentrated state can knock you out. Feel free to test it yourself at your own risk."

I grabbed 2 contracts from my filing cabinet and set the papers down in front of them.

"If you'd like to go ahead with the purchase, I need you to both read and sign these and be each others' witness."

Once they had both read and signed their own pieces of paper, and each others, I rang a small bell on my desk. I closed my eyes and sought out Wendy.

I called her name softly and willed her to hear it on the breeze just like she'd taught me to.

Moments later, she apparated in my office.

Both of my guests jumped slightly in surprise.

"A witch!" exclaimed Alpha Donald. "I didn't know you had a pack witch!"

I smiled in return.

"Alpha Donald, Beta Thomas, it's my pleasure to introduce you to Wendy."

I didn't go into details about the connection between our pack and Wendy. Witches tend to have a bad reputation and some people have prejudice against them. They all nodded to each other politely.

"Wendy is here to witness and to magically bind the contracts."

"You're that worried about this wolfsbane oil?" questioned Alpha Donald.

"In a word, yes. You know what wolfsbane does to us. Now imagine the potency in a super concentrated oil. Not only does this contract make you aware of the safety precautions, the intentions for use excetera, but also the sharing of my personal information.

I believe it best to be cautious.

We are a small pack. I don't want every other pack knowing the extent of our production of wolfsbane and making us a target."

Once all of our paperwork was finalised I again shook hands with the visiting Alpha and Beta.

"Pleasure doing business with you gentleman."

We said our goodbyes and they were escorted out to their car by Stella.

When we were alone I turned to my friend, "thank you Wendy. We have afternoon tea set up downstairs, would like to join us?"

"Thank you Adeira, but I might have a snoop in your green house instead."

She patted my arm affectionately and disappeared.

I headed down to greet our new members.

The food was well received and the ceremony went well. Our new members seem to fit in easily and make friends.

Everyone was happily chatting and many helped as we started packing up.

It was getting late by the time we'd finished up, so we all headed inside for some dinner.
