"Damn it, Maia," I kicked myself, realizing I had taken the wrong turn and entered the wrong parking lot. The Diakos estate was massive, and one could easily get lost, as I did just now.
Turning around, I dashed back in the direction I had come from, noticing that this side was more like a private parking lot, but just as I was about to round the corner, it hit me—an intoxicating scent that stopped me dead in place.
My heart raced so fast it felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. It was unlike anything I had ever smelled before—warm, inviting, and electrifying—and my breath caught as I felt a stirring deep within me, one I had never felt before as my wolf surged forward.
