♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤ Crius POV ♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤ Slumping back into his chair, he reached for his drink. The warmth of the tea soothing his dry throat, Crius couldn't believe what had just transpired. Why didn't he control himself better, there was something so familiar about her. Putting that aside, what are the odds that the future Queen of the Hunters would just waltz into his territory. NO. This was no coincidence. Lost in his thoughts he was hit with a flash back. "Crius....." Her voice.....her beautiful angelic voice....so calm even though the situation did not warrant it. He was so helpless then, unable to stop the inevitable. "Please.....Cyrene....just listen to me." On his knees, pleading with her, he wanted to take her far away from this place. He could see that she was at peace with her decision, unwilling to change course. Bringing her hand to his cheek, he looked up at her. "Crius....it's time....you must let me go." "Sir.......Sir......Crius you're bleeding." Jasper called out, bringing him back to the present time. The cup he was holding, now shattered, fragments embedded into his skin. "My apologies, second." Rushing to clean Crius's wound, Jasper looked at him knowingly. "You were thinking about her right now weren't you?" A wistful smile curled up on his lips "You know me too well, old friend." Thinking back to Auryon, he couldn't shake the feeling that this was planned. Not by her but possibly the council. After Cyrene's death he refused to set foot in that place again. Rejecting all invitations and meetings. Was he giving them what they wanted by going back there? He had to sort this out and all roads lead back to that rogue. "Send word to your men, prepare Cocidius for interrogation." Jasper was surprised by the order. "Crius are you sure? It's late, and the rogue is still unconscious. You did quite a number on him." Cleaning the blood off of his hand, Crius had already made up his mind. "Well, let's wake him up shall we? He would have been in better shape had he not fought me. Cocidius did put up one hell of a fight though, I give him that." Judging him Jasper shook his head. "Seriously Crius.....the fight was unnecessary." Rolling his eyes "I beg to differ. Plus Cocidius is a vampire....an old one at that....he should be fine by now. See...." Showing his healed hand "As good as new." Sighing, Jasper gives his men the heads up then turns to Crius "You are exhausting, you know that?" leading the way to rogues cell. ♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤ A/N This chapter and the next one was really fun to write. Actually no, not just fun but also incredibly heartbreaking. I initially wasn't going to go this route. As I started to write and really get into Crius's character I created something that turned out to be the puzzle piece I felt had been missing from this book. If after the next chapter you all love the story of Crius, Cocidius, and the human woman I will go even further into it and create a book just for them. Can't do it without feedback though, so feel free to comment. -Frankie ♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤
