Boyd was nowhere in sight. “Probably got fed up with waiting,” I remarked a little acidly. “Oh no,” Lewis said pleasantly. “He never gets fed up. We’ll just wait a bit for him ourselves.” We did for ten minutes. Lewis then stepped back into the shop and returned immediately. “I’ve left a message for him,” he explained. “We can step along.” We walked, far too rapidly for my leisurely tastes, to the underground, came out at Tottenham Court Road, and walked around to Lewis’s offices in Little Denmark Street.
