William was surprised when he walked into the cafeteria and found Lucy and Byron sitting opposite each other and talking intently. He walked up behind them, put a hand on Lucy’s shoulder, and said, “Lucy, let’s go home. Lucy turned and looked up at William defensively. “We were only talking,” she hissed. “You can’t throw a hissy fit every time you see me talking to a man. It is unbecoming of you and suggests an inferiority complex!” “We’ll see about that,” he growled as he grabbed her arm and pulled her out of her seat. She protested heavily, but he was too strong. He threw her over his shoulder and carried her out of the hospital kicking and screaming. Watching them disappear from his sight, Byron’s eyes welled up with tears. “I would never treat her that way,” he muttered to himself.
