Things had changed for Lucy now that all eyes were on her. The maids whispered behind her back and she could tell that she was making people nervous. She couldn’t tell what the maids were talking about, but she assumed that they thought she was guilty of stealing the La Mer cosmetics. It was very frustrating because she was innocent but everyone was treating her as if she was guilty.
