Lucy arrived for her interview promptly at eight o'clock and Verne greeted her at the door. He was dressed in a black suit. His skin was slightly dark, his smile was charming, and his hand-shake was confident. Verve led her into her office, had her sit down in front of his desk, and he asked her four or five questions. Finally, he looked her in the eyes and said, “That’s that. The job is yours if you still want it.”
