Lucy woke up around noon again but, today, there was no pain. Not wanting to get up quite yet, she sent Amber a text and asked her to bring her something for her to eat in bed. When she arrived with a light snack, Amber was glad to hear her sounding so cheerful and she quickly grilled a sandwich and brought it up to her.
Lucy smiled and she thanked her but, just as she was about to take her first bite, her phone rang. She answered it without checking the caller ID and was happy to hear her mother’s soft voice on the other end. After exchanging pleasantries, Amber asked her if she was available to meet up.
