Jenny, Steven, and Amber turned to Vivian as she screamed, just in time to see a vase of flowers fall to the floor. The vase crashed to the floor and shattered into a million pieces. Glass, flowers, and water flew everywhere. “For f**k’s sake,” Steven sighed as he scowled at Jenny. “Can’t you ever be careful?”
“Maybe she’s injured,” Amber said in a way that scolded Steven. She turned to Jenny then back to Steven. “Shouldn’t you at least check on her safety before you curse her out?”
Jenny ignored Amber for the moment. She turned to Steven. “How dare you take that tone of voice with me?” she hissed. She pulled her hand away from his and said, “Do you honestly think that I would scream like that for no good reason, or break something on purpose?”
