The meal that William had prepared was way beyond anything that anyone would have thought he was capable of making. Even Steven, who rarely complimented anyone on anything, said, “This is the best food I have ever tasted. It is juicy and the seasoning is perfect. It even tastes better than anything I have tasted in a five-star restaurant!”
He had only eaten one bite of the Cornish game hen, and he was in love.
Steven offered compliments and William blushed; two minor miracles in the space of one minute. After that, the air was jovial and any anxiety that often clung to their dinner ritual, found no place at their table. Knowing that the meal had been prepared by William, even Lucy was able to relax.
