"What's your name?"
"Ella."
"Do you remember how you ended up here?"
The pale little girl on the hospital bed gave a small shake of her head, clearly nervous.
Celeste gently touched her hand. "It's okay, don't be scared. I'm just trying to understand, I'm not gonna hurt you."
Then she glanced back at the nurse.
"How's her condition?"
"Nothing serious in the tests. When she first got here, her system had way too much sedative in it. Looks like someone had been dosing her regularly, probably to keep her in a mentally foggy state. But physically, there's no sign of injury."
"Got it."
