Subtly, calmly, I passed the brush with black paint and traced the line that I had previously drawn. Slowly but surely, I filled the blank space with black and got what I wanted; I walked away. I watched my creation, admired it for a few seconds, and then mixed a little white with the same black on the palette and thus created a little grey. I returned to my work and continued painting the canvas with great calm. After that “accident” I was in therapy for a year, but nothing gave me as much peace as painting. I knew that I still had fears to overcome, and I knew perfectly well that the demons inside me, along with those fears, played tricks on me, but since I discovered the passion for painting, I experienced the peace that I was not able to experience in a year of therapy.
