Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed from the stairs. I looked up to see a handsome young man walking down the stairs. He had black hair, piercing blue eyes, and chiseled features. He smiled as he approached us, and I felt a flutter in my chest. "Ah, perfect timing," Mr. Donovan said, standing up. "Xamira, this is my son, Tardrain." Tardrain smiled and extended his hand. "Nice to meet you, Xamira." I took his hand, feeling anxious. "Nice to meet you too, Tardrain." Mr. Donovan continued,"Tardrain, this is Xamira, the girl I was telling you about." Tardrain's eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. Mr. Donovan continued, "Now that you've met, let's hurry up with the necessary procedures. We should head to the court for the wedding." Tardrain nodded, and we stood up. We walked out of the mansion and entered a sleek, black limo. As we drove to the court, the tension between us was palpable. Neither of us spoke, the only sound being the soft hum of the engine. After an hour-long drive, we arrived at the courthouse. We signed the necessary documents, and the judge pronounced us husband and wife. The whole procedure felt surreal, and I couldn't help but wonder what I had just gotten myself into. As we left the courthouse, Tardrain turned to me and said, "You'll be moving into my house in two days' time. I'll send the driver to pick you up and take you to my mansion." I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. The limo dropped me off at my house, and Tardrain's driver took him to his mansion. As I watched the limo drive away, I couldn't help but wonder what my new life would be like. As I entered my gate, I saw Tyler and Lainey about to leave. But as soon as Lainey saw me, she jumped out of the car and ran towards me. "Xamira!" Lainey exclaimed, holding my hands tightly. "How was it? What happened?" I took a deep breath and smiled weakly. "I'm his wife now. I leave for his place in two days." Lainey's eyes welled up with tears. "Oh, Xamira, thank you so much for doing this for me. I don't know how I can ever repay you." I shook my head, feeling sad. "It's okay, Lainey. I did it for you because I love you." Lainey hugged me tightly, tears streaming down her face. "I love you too, Xamira. You're the best sister in the world." I hugged her back, feeling a sense of sadness wash over me. After a while, Lainey let me go and got back into Tyler's car. They drove off, leaving me standing alone outside my house. I took a deep breath and went inside. Mom and Dad were waiting for me in the living room. "How was it, sweetie?" Mom asked, concern etched on her face. I sat down next to them and took a deep breath. "It's done. I'm his wife now. I leave for his place in two days." Dad nodded, his expression serious. "We'll make sure to get everything ready for you. You'll be okay, Xamira." Mom put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "We'll always be here for you, no matter what." I smiled weakly, feeling a sense of gratitude towards my parents. Two days later, a driver arrived at my house to take me to my new home. I said goodbye to my tearful family and got into the car. The driver took me to a grand mansion that belonged to Tardrain. As I stepped out of the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer size and beauty of the mansion. Tardrain greeted me warmly and showed me to my new room. It was a stunningly beautiful space, designed with a feminine touch. The walls were painted a soft, pale pink, and the furniture was elegant and refined. A massive four-poster bed dominated the room, covered in plush, white bedding and adorned with delicate lace curtains. The room was enormous, with a sitting area, a walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom. I felt like a princess in a fairy tale. Tardrain smiled and told me to make myself at home. He explained that he would be busy with work for the next few days, but he would try to spend more time with me soon. As it turned out, Tardrain was barely at home for the first week. I spent most of my days exploring the mansion, getting to know the staff, and trying to settle into my new life. But in the second week, Tardrain started to be more available at home. He would come down to dinner and engage in little conversations with me. He was charming and polite, and I found myself feeling more and more comfortable around him. Despite the fact that I barely knew him, Tardrain treated me kindly and with respect. He would ask me about my day, listen attentively to my responses, and offer words of encouragement. The only times I felt anxious were when Tardrain was getting ready to leave for work. He would kiss me goodbye, and I would feel a pang of uncertainty about our marriage and our future together. But for now, I was determined to make the best of my new life and to get to know my husband better. Later that evening, Mr. Donovan sent for me. I went to his mansion, wondering what he wanted to see me about. When I arrived, Mr. Donovan greeted me warmly and asked me to sit down. "Xamira, I hope you're settling in well at Tardrain's mansion," he said, his eyes twinkling with kindness. I nodded, smiling. "Yes, thank you, Mr. Donovan. It's a beautiful place." Mr. Donovan smiled. "I'm glad you like it. Now, I want to make sure you have everything you need. Do you want anything? Food, clothes, anything at all?" I thought for a moment before responding. "Actually, Mr. Donovan, I was thinking of getting a dog. I've always wanted one." Mr. Donovan's face lit up. "A dog! Wonderful idea! I'll arrange for one to be delivered to the mansion tomorrow." I thanked him, feeling grateful for his kindness. We continued bonding and talking, and I served him dinner. I was comfortable around him, and he seemed to enjoy my company. Later that evening, I remembered to call Tardrain to let him know I was at his dad's place. Tardrain came over to his father's mansion and picked me up. We drove back to our house in comfortable silence. The next morning was Saturday, and Tardrain was at home. We were having breakfast together when he asked me a question that caught me off guard. "When would you be comfortable with us consummating our marriage?" he asked, looking at me intently. I almost choked on my food. Tardrain quickly stood up and gave me water to calm me down. "If you're not comfortable with this conversation, we can talk about it some other time," he said gently. I shook my head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "No, no, it's just... it was a shock to me." Tardrain smiled understandingly. "I'm giving you time because you're quite young, and I don't want it to seem like I'm forcing anything on you." I nodded, feeling grateful for his consideration. "When you're ready, I'm ready," I said, trying to sound confident.
