Late that next Saturday night, (which he told Priscilla about later) Senator Callahan was among the fourteen Democratic senators who met in the smoke-filled meeting room just off the Senate chamber. The two other senators, Walt O’Leary and Theopholus Madison, had not yet returned from Florida.
