Consider It Done
The very next morning, Priscilla made an appointment to submit her resignation to Dean Newsome in person.
He told her how disappointed he was. “But you’ve only just gotten started,” he said. “From what you’ve told me, you haven’t even met anybody special. You can make a good life here.” She had already told him that a family emergency made it imperative that she honor her father’s request to move closer to home in upstate New York. “Are you sure,” the dean asked, “that the good Reverend can’t find someone else to help out?”
