Jonas and Aguirre are stopped on their ATVs at a crossroads in the mountain rain forest. Jonas stares at his partner's baseball hat with its FNP logo. "You ever take that off?" he says, looking up to the sky and then around him.
"Makes me look like a tall Peruvian, at least at a distance," says Aguirre. "Sometimes the ones you got to worry about are the ones who are farthest away. And you know something? I can't speak Quechua without an accent. Any time I try to talk to the natives in Quechua my cover is gone. I just tell them I'm half-Aymara. I still think they know."
He gives Jonas the once-over. "Speaking of which.... You look 'Company' all the way. That or Gringo drug dealer. Neither one's gonna sell down here."
