Over PUCALIPA, PERU
Jason "Swingo" Jonas leans on his pack in the cargo area of a rickety, drafty, medium-sized cargo plane soaring over a range of mountains. The sky that shows through the windows is a mix of open blue and clouds whose shadows move across the landscape like a herd of gigantic animals.
It is cold inside the plane. Jonas wears his black Mountain Hardware vest over a grey British commando sweater. Occasionally a beam of the sunlight falls on Jonas, sending gold into his reddish-brown hair, hinting at childhood blondness.
