NARRATIVE of WARD COURIER January, 2009 RUSKIN and BUFFALO, NY So. The Scorpions. I did know who they were. I play the radio when I drive. I station-hop. I hear a bit of rock. A lot of it does get heavy now and then. You wouldn't call many of my favorites heavy metal, though. So. The Scorpions. I'd never tried to listen to any of their albums and I wasn't optimistic. I'm a little prejudiced against what I presume may be big-hair heavy metal. I'd been all through that. You bought an album because of a killer single that made you think the band might have some flair. Then you got tired of that song after five plays of the album and there wasn't much left on it to listen to. I'd even stereotyped the Scorpions as goths. Maybe it was some of those album covers.
