CHAPTER 5..

The meeting had been completed. He was coming out of the building when his phone rang. He took out his phone and looked at it—there was a call from Mr. Jozaf. His mood became extremely bad. At this moment, he had no intention of receiving the call; rather, it could be said that he did not want to attend Mr. Jozaf’s call at all. But now he knew that if he didn’t pick up the call, then Mr. Jozaf would have already reached his villa. He went straight to the car, took the car key from the driver, and sat on the front seat himself. His manager Noah came running. “William…!” But he stopped him with a gesture of his hand and drove the car away from the entertainment building. Noah also sat in another car behind him and started following his car. William Jozaf stopped his car near a very beautiful lake. He himself got out of the car and walked toward the bench near the lake and sat down, looking at the water. He turned his neck and looked around. There were almost no people there, and whoever was present was quite far from him. Otherwise, if people had noticed his presence, a crowd would have gathered there. His guards were standing at a distance, guarding him. He again started looking at the lake water, but his mind was in the past at that moment. So many thoughts were going through his mind. --- Past: Today was 26 April 2008, and today was the birthday of that innocent child. He had woken up in the morning with great excitement. Today was his birthday, so why wouldn’t he be happy? He thought that as soon as he woke up, his parents would wish him or give him a surprise. But nothing like that happened. Today he had turned 10 years old. He did not feel bad and thought maybe at some time during the day, his parents would surprise him. Just two days ago, he had reminded his parents about his birthday. Surely, they must have planned some surprise. He got up and quickly went to freshen up. As soon as he came out of his room, the huge mansion was silent. Only a few servants could be seen here and there doing their work. He walked to the main hall and sat on the sofa. A maid came to him and said, “Young master, should I serve food for you?” The child looked at the servant and shook his head in refusal. The maid was about to leave when he stopped her and asked, “Where are Mama and Papa?” The servant looked at him and said, “Sir has gone out of the city for a business meeting, and Madam has gone to a friend’s birthday party.” Something broke in the child’s eyes, or maybe in his heart. He thought that at least they wouldn’t forget his birthday. He had reminded them just two days ago. How could this be possible? He kept sitting on the sofa, looking toward the mansion’s main entrance, maybe with the hope that they would come. At that time, it was 10 PM when he heard his parents’ voices—they had returned. He ran toward the main entrance, but suddenly he stopped. His parents were coming while arguing with each other. Tears came into the child’s eyes. At least today, this shouldn’t have happened with him. Now he could clearly hear their voices. His mother was saying, “Don’t tell me where I should go and where not. I will go wherever I want, and you should have no problem with that.” His father grabbed her arm and said, “I am your husband, and I have the right.” His mother jerked her arm away and said, “I am your wife too. Tell me where you stay most of the time.” They were fighting like ignorant people in loud voices. They didn’t care that their 10-year-old child was watching them. His father did not reply and started walking inside. Then he saw his son standing in front of him. He stopped, looked at him, and said, “What are you doing here at this time? You should be sleeping.” Then he held his head lightly and went inside his room. His mother also came to him, kissed him on the cheek, and went inside. And he remained standing there with tears in his eyes. He was a child growing up in a broken family, and the lives of such children never pass normally. Why don’t parents think while fighting that their children are watching them and what effect it will have on them? That child had spent the whole day sitting on a sofa, waiting for his parents. And his parents didn’t even ask why he was standing there or whether he had eaten anything or not. They didn’t have time for him. Like every time, today again he felt that his parents had left him. He wiped his tears harshly and walked toward his room. And this was his special day—what kind of birthday is celebrated like this? They had a lot of wealth, but they could never buy the happiness he wanted.
