Elara found me after dinner like she promised. I was walking back from the cafeteria alone when she appeared beside me, like a shadow that had been waiting for the right moment. "Come with me," she said quietly.
I followed her and she led me to the old greenhouse at the back of the campus, the one that nobody used anymore, the one where Kael and I had talked so many times before.
She closed the door behind us and turned to face me. In the dim light of the greenhouse she looked even more tired than she had in the courtyard earlier.
"You said you found a name," I said. "In your mother's research."
"Yes," Elara said.
"Who?" I asked.
