CALDER I had not slept in four days, every time I closed my eyes I saw Selene standing next to Kael in that trial. The way she looked at him, the way she chose him and walked away from me like I was nothing. I kept telling myself it was about control and power. About an Alpha losing his claim, but that was a lie and I knew it. It was about her. It had always been about her. I saw Kael in the hallway outside the library.
