SELENE We were almost back to the main hall when we heard a scream. It was high and sharp and it cut through the music like a knife, then another scream and then shouting. We all stopped walking. "Oh my God," Sophie said, her hand was over her mouth. "Keep walking," Kael said, his voice was low and controlled. "Act like we don't know anything." But we couldn't just walk into the dance like nothing was happening, the music had stopped. People were moving toward the hallway, toward where we had just come from.
