History class felt like it lasted forever. Professor Harlan was talking about pack structures again, about how different regions handled leadership and what made some packs strong and others fall apart.
I sat in my usual seat and tried to pay attention, tried to act like nothing had changed, tried to be normal.
But I could feel the bond. It was like a thread running through me.
Kael was two rows over, he was taking notes like he actually cared about what Professor Harlan was saying, but I could see the tension in his shoulders. Could see the way he kept glancing at the clock.
Elara was in the back of the class, she had not been in my dorm when I woke up this morning. She had not come back all night. I wondered where she went. I wondered what she was doing.
