We stood in the warehouse in a circle, the lights cast long shadows across the concrete floor. The space was cold and empty except for us. It felt right for this conversation.
I looked at each of them. Kael, Mara, Calder. Three very different people who had no reason to trust each other, three people I was about to ask to trust me completely.
