Blaze: By the time I pulled into the garage, Kat was out cold. The engine rumbled low, then died. Silence filled the truck, but not in my chest. There, it was chaos. A mess of pounding heartbeats, burning throat, and something I didn’t want to name, because it would undo me. She didn’t even flinch when I opened her door, just slumped there, lips parted, hair wild around her face. Goddamn, she looked so beautiful it hurt.
