House Warming

1000 Words

Shay: I awoke earlier than normal, sunlight filtering softly through the sheer curtains, creating a gentle glow in our bedroom. Today was special—a celebration of our new home, a symbol of the life Saint and I were building together. The thought made warmth bloom in my chest as I stretched, the faint sounds of the morning filtering in from the open window. I smiled to myself, feeling a flutter deep inside as my fingers lightly brushed his cheek. He stirred slightly, eyes fluttering open, and a sleepy smile curved his lips. “Morning,” he murmured, voice rough with sleep, pulling me gently closer. “Good morning,” I whispered, pressing a soft kiss against his jaw.
