I walked out of the doctor’s office with my heart fluttering excitedly, clutching tightly to the sealed envelope that held the biggest surprise yet. I couldn’t help but smile as I imagined Saint’s face when he found out whether we were having a boy or a girl. A beautiful future was unfolding right in front of us, and every day it felt more real, more precious.
Saint had apologized repeatedly for not being able to make the appointment. He had an important rebuild at the garage, something complicated, and his clients were counting on him.
