Blaze: I watched her—my Kat—as the last bit of steam curled around us, the water turning cold, numbing against my skin, but I didn’t move. Neither did she. Her forehead pressed to mine, our breathing syncing like it always did when the world tried to rip us apart. In that moment, nothing else existed outside of her eyes and the words she’d just said. "I love you, Blaze. I want forever with you, however that looks for us." That "however" broke me and stitched me up at the same time. Because it meant she knew.
