The Tribrid and Her Four Mates

Chapter 2: The Annual Ball

I’m seating on my throne as my party planner goes over the details for the annual ball, that’s coming up in a week. I decided to throw an annual ball every year 1 week after our freedom to allow those that remember the old days to grieve and remember our old loved ones and then we celebrate a week after for revolution and freedom.

“Missy,”I interrupt.

“Yes my queen,” she replies in a startled tone.

“I’m sorry for scaring you, but the theme is winter green this year I don’t see how hard it is,” I apologized for my outburst and gently told her.

“I understand my queen but the green color is dark green tone and the decoration store doesn’t carry the color,” she replies back

“Then we will create the decoration ourselves we still have our Garland’s from last year we can just use fake snow to spray on them,” I tell her; she nods and walks away with her clipboard.

“Why must we throw this ball every year it’s been 100 years already,” Luna says in a frustrating tone.

“Because it tells our people that we are still free and they must not worry about getting caught.” Myst says in a motherly tone, I just ignore them when they are bickering about the ball every year, it gives me a headache.

“My queen,” Zack bows he is my trusted lead warrior and friend.

“Zack!” I say smiling, but Zack doesn’t smile at me which means something has happened.

“What is it?” I say, my smile faltering.

“We found a dead body outside the barrier with a note attached to,” He says handing me the note carefully.

I open the note to read it and to my horror I demand a meeting with my elder counsel.

(I found you, my tribrid and I’m coming for you, and your hybrids you stole from me and I’ll make you all pay.)

There’s still 5 days until the annual ball me and the council have agreed after the annual ball all hybrids must reach the bunkers and the council was against the idea of me going to the other kingdoms to seek help. But I had no choice we had to be ready incase the demon king comes for us. I call my second in command for werewolves it’s a beta but we’re hybrids so we choose second in command.

“Yes my queen” my second in command Reese says in a bow, Reese has brownish red hair and green eyes, he’s a werewolf bear hybrid.

“After the annual ball all hybrids will be hiding in the bunkers do not worry them, and you’ll also be in charge while I’m gone,” I tell him in a commanding tone.

“Yes my queen,” he replies back

“And also have Zack get three guards ready to leave in 6 days,” I say after dismissing him, he bows and heads off to give the orders.

I’m seating in my office writing letters to the other four kings and as I’m finishing the letters Brenda my trusted friend comes in,

“You wanted to see me your Highness,” she says I look at her annoyed and say “Brenda you know you don’t have to call me that.” She giggles “I know I just like seeing the look on your face,” Brenda is the fairy witch hybrid I met on my first day in that dungeon.

“I need you to send these to the other four kingdoms,” I say looking at her; she looks at me nervously wanting to ask why but she knows I can’t tell her.

As days pass it’s the annual ball everything is going will my people are having fun I know I have to announce why they’re going to the bunkers tonight everyone brought their belongings with them but didn’t say anything about it. As it was time for me to make this speech I stand up and everyone goes silent.

“My fellow citizens I know your wondering why I made you all bring your belongings with you today, that’s because I’m afraid the demon king has found our barrier hiding our kingdom,” I say allowing it to sink in to everyone before continuing.

“But please do not panic everything is under control, I will be leaving tomorrow morning to the other four kingdoms to gain allies incase we must go to war one final time, but any children, elderly, the sick and pregnant women will be hiding in the bunkers for safety; I need to know if you are all with me and the allies to fight for freedom one last time,” I say waiting for their response.

They all look at me with scared but determined looks to keep their freedom they had gain 100 years ago, until one says “I’m with you my queen and I’ll fight for my home and people,” and then everyone cheered agreeing to fight when the time comes.

I allowed everyone to enjoy the rest of the night one last time because we didn’t know if we will come out of this alive.

As the night goes on Reese in forms me that everything is ready for my departure tomorrow morning, thanks to Brenda I was able to receive letters back from the kingdoms they agreed to meet in an area that is used for truths where all kingdoms come to together without fighting and that’s the fairies old kingdom. Brenda agreed to open a portal for me and the three guards to the old fairy kingdom, when the ball ended and everyone headed down to bunkers I made last preparations for Reese and Zack to make sure everyone is ready just in case.

The next day Reese and Zack was training everyone in the bunkers arena to prepare, Brenda was with me as she opened the portal to the fairy kingdom my guards step through and then me and Brenda closed it knowing that anything could happen.
