Shadows and Silences Kiara’s POV She stood frozen in front of the grand gates of the Fernandes Mansion, heart pounding like a drum inside her chest. The estate loomed before her regal, distant, and guarded like a fortress. "Excuse me, miss," the security guard said firmly. "Do you have an appointment?" She shook her head. "I—I need to speak with Antonio Fernandes. It’s important. Please." The guard didn’t flinch. "Mr. Fernandes doesn’t see walk-ins. Especially not uninvited ones." Kiara gritted her teeth. "Can you at least tell him someone named Kiara Richardson is here?" The guard raised an eyebrow. "Name means nothing here. You need to leave. Now." Behind the curtains of the top floor, a shadow moved. Antonio Fernandes stood in his office, frowning down at the gates. "Who’s that girl at the gate?" he muttered to himself. But he didn’t ask for her name. His secretary replied politely, "She didn’t give a reason for the visit, sir." Antonio grunted. "Probably another reporter trying to dig up dirt on David. I'm not interested. Send her away." Below, the gate buzzed as the guard stepped forward. "Miss, I’m sorry, but you need to leave." Kiara clenched her fists. She could feel the answers so close… but locked behind that gate. She turned away, eyes burning. "One day, I’ll get inside those walls. One day." Christin’s POV His phone buzzed. He checked the message: a surveillance photo of Kiara outside the mansion. His heart sank. Why is she there? He paced his dorm, frustration boiling. Mom must already know. If Kiara kept digging, she’d be in danger. He dialed her number, but she didn’t pick up. "Kiara, what are you doing?" he muttered. He dialed one of their guard " there is a girl standing outside the mansion send her away before mom see her" Then The Guard came and told her to go "Excuse me miss please go from here" He said and closed the Gate. Regina’s POV The spy's voice crackled through the encrypted line. "She tried to meet Mr Antonio fernandes today." Regina’s manicured hand tightened on her wine glass. "That foolish girl doesn’t know what she’s walking into." "Shall we increase surveillance?" "No," Regina said coldly. "She’s not a threat yet. Let her dig. The more curious she gets, the faster she’ll burn herself." She ended the call and picked up her laptop, reviewing a proposal. Her empire needed her. She didn’t have time to babysit. Unless… She picked up her phone and called Jennie. "Yes, Aunty Regina?" "Keep an eye on Kiara. If she gets too close to Dad—or David—deal with it. Quietly." Jennie smirked. "Of course. Aunty i Won't let her don't worry about it" "Hm Good" Regina said Victor De Souza’s POV Victor sat in his study, watching the rain fall against the windows. He remembered the day Antonio had thrown David out. His face red with fury. "You married a nobody, David! You’ll ruin our name!" Victor hadn’t dared defend him then because Of Regina. And now… a daughter. He took a deep breath. "If Regina finds out how close Kiara is getting to the truth..." His thoughts were interrupted by Regina herself entering the room. "Still daydreaming, Victor?" she said with an arched brow. He stood. "I heard Kiara visited the mansion today." Regina’s smile was faint and cold. "She’s persistent. Like her father. But persistence gets you nothing if you don’t have power." Victor said nothing. Liya’s POV She found Kiara at the park bench near campus, staring at her phone. "Hey..." Liya sat beside her gently. Kiara looked up. "I tried, Liya. I tried to meet him. But they turned me away like I didn’t matter." Liya frowned. "You’re brave, Kiara. But Grandpa Antonio Fernandes is... complicated. He’s not the kind of man who forgives easily." Kiara turned to her. "Why does everyone act like My dad is a curse? What did he do so wrong?" Liya hesitated. "It’s not what he did... It’s who he loved." i said in a low voice kiara doesn't hear it. Jennie’s POV Jennie scrolled through Kiara’s socials, every post fueling her annoyance. "Everyone loves the poor girl with a scholarship. Ugh." She opened her closet and selected a stunning new designer dress Which is gifted by Regina. If Regina wanted class—she’d get it. Jennie Called Regina "Hi Aunty Can i take christin to a date tonight" "Are you stupid jennie can't you even do anything without asking me" Regina shout on the call "I am on a meeting and do whatever" she said and hung up the call Jennie gritted her teeth in angry "How dare she shout at me" Shh calm down jennie "I have to do this for christin if i want him i have to bear all her scold. And if i ask christin to come for a date he will definitely shout like his Mom" jennie said with angry. "This is all because of that scholarship girl i have to send her away to her old campas As soon as possible. "Then i will have the first place in regina's heart" jennie said with a smirk. Ethan’s POV He slammed his hand on the desk. "What do you mean you couldn’t wipe her records?!" The hacker shrugged. "Someone already locked them. Way more secure than anything I’ve seen." Ethan's eyes narrowed. "Who?" "I don’t know. But someone doesn’t want her erased." He gritted his teeth. "Then I’ll erase her the old-fashioned way." He clicked open a file marked FERNANDES FAMILY TREE. His lips curled into a twisted smile. Kiara’s POV She stared at her laptop screen late into the night. A news clipping from 18 years ago. Her fingers hovered over David’s photo. Her father. Her missing puzzle piece. "Why did they hate you so much, Dad Who are you to them?" she whispered. A sudden knock on her door made her jump. A note was slid under. Stop digging. Before you lose everything. She rushed outside. No one. Her heart thundered. Someone was watching. But she would not stop. To Be Continued...💖
