Trevor’s POV:
After I ran Jorden a bath, I headed to get our clothes out. While I was dressing both betas linked me that Cass and Nate are arguing in the gazebo.
It’s not like anyone who actually had eyes couldn’t see the Nate and Jorden still had the connection. But catching you’re mate f*****g his first mate must hurt.
Making my way back to the bathroom, I stop in the doorway and lean against the frame watching my mate dry her body.
“I can feel your eyes burning into me, babe. Why are you watching me?” She asks in a bored tone.
I approach her and wrap my arms around her torso, “First of all, I can look at what’s mine anytime I want!” I can feel the hairs on her body stand at my words.
Grinning at her response to me, “Second, why the tone? What’s going on in the pretty mind of yours, princess?” I ask, resting my chin on her shoulder.
“We’re meeting Nathan soon and we are also supposed to meet Hannah. The red witch, remember?” She says with a sigh, her hands trail along mine that are wrapped around her before she leans her head into my chest.
“We’ll handle it, together, as a team, sweet baby.” I reassure her and release her.
“Meet me downstairs in 5, baby, okay?” I say and move towards the bedroom again.

Jorden’s POV:
Making my way down to meet Trevor, I run into a young pup, Ally.
“Luna, why are you sad?” She inquired with sweet eyes.
Cocking my head to the side, “What do you mean, little one?” Crouching down to her height, “I’m not sad,” I assure her.
She reaches her little palm to cup my cheek, I cover her hand with mine.
“I heard you sniffling earlier. Do we need to fight someone for making Luna sad?” Her statement made my heart flutter and bite back the urge to giggle.
“Oh, honey. I’m okay, I stubbed my toe and it made me a bit sad but I’m completely okay,” I tap her hand that lays on my cheek, “Thank you for checking on me, Ally.”
With that she nods firmly, rushing off to the kitchen.
Standing, smiling wide, I make my way out to the gazebo. Passing by some pack members, we give pleasant nods.
“You’re just trying to have your cake and eat it to!” Cassidy yells.
Fighting the urge to roll my eyes, I approach my mates and Cass.
“Look, we need to sit down and discuss this as adults. This is not a good look for the leaders of the pack…now sit,” I point at Cassidy, “the f**k,” pointing at Nate, “down,” I point at Trev.
They bow their heads and all take seats on separate benches.
I glance at each one of them, “Alright, Nathan, you have one week to make a choice.”
His eyes bore into mine, searching for me to say more I’m sure.
“Look, Cass. You’re his second chance mate or whatever but I was his first. Therefore we will have a bond until the moon goddess breaks it, which will or will not happen within a week.” My eyes locking with hers.
Huffing, “Yes, Luna. I apologize for causing a scene,” her words come off fake and doubtful but I accept her apology since I can’t imagine being her.
Ha! Wait, I am kind of her. But at least I have Trevor. Who would she have?
“As for you,” I swing to face my mate, wiggling a finger at him, “You just allowed them to go at each other’s throats?”
Trevor just smiles at me, almost as if he’s admiring my reprimanding of them all.
I walk up to him, grabbing his face and squeezing, making his lips pop out a little, slightly resembling a fish.
“Not very Alpha-like, darling mate. Allowing your brother and possible future sister in law to go at it so publicly!” My tone serious.
Nate and Cass both chuckle at Trev being checked on his behavior. I turn my head to face them, sending a warning glare. Both drop their heads still smiling.
Rolling my eyes, I move back to the entrance of the gazebo.
“Cassidy, can you lead tonight’s training session? The twins and I have Alpha and Luna duties to take care of.”
Cassidy eyes Nathan for a second before standing, “Of course, Luna.” She looks back at Nate longingly then darts toward the pack house to gather the troops for training.
“What do we have to attend?” Nate inquires.
“We’re meeting a woman named Hannah, just hush and follow us,” answering Nathan as I take Trevor’s hand.
After a twenty minute walk, losing ourselves—or rather Trevor getting us lost—I take the lead and run in human form for another twenty minutes, we make it to the clearing of the meadow to meet our witchy friend. But what I hadn’t expected to find was a bloodied forest flood. As if today hasn’t already been pure chaos, now we find such a scene.
Gasping, I cover my mouth and hold back a sob. Trevor and Nathan both follow random blood trails to see if we can somehow identify who was massacred here.
Appearing out of nowhere, “Hello, Luna. Alph—“ Hannah breaks her greeting with a horrific shriek. A part of me wanted to silence her in case anyone from the pack heard but I chose against it after seeing the heartbreak written all over her face.
I approach her and immediately grip her arms, blocking the view she has of the red painted meadow.
“Hannah, what is it? Do you know who was killed here? Do you know who might have done this?” I question softly but promptly.
Resting her hands on my shoulder and her forehead on my chest, “It was Stephen. It’s my mate.” She whimpers to me but loud enough the guys can hear her.
“Oh, honey,” I didn’t know what I could do to ease her pain but wrap her in a hug and swear to catch the culprit.
“This won’t go unpunished. We will help you find the persons responsible for this and you can be the one to execute them, I swear it by the moon goddess.”
Both Nathan are Trevor are at our sides in seconds. Hannah straightens up, wipes her tears and inhales deeply.
“I have some news for you, as promised.” She says calmly.
I take her hand and lead her to a rock and sit beside her, my eyes examining her face, awaiting her information.
“You must be Nathan,” she gives him a small smile.
Clearing his throat, he extends a hand, “I am but I have no clue your name, witch.” Nathan sounds irritated knowing she’s a witch but for what it’s worth he was kinder than expected. I presume it has to do with what witches did to Trevor.
Taking the reins, “Nate! Be kind. Not only is she helping our pack but she just lost the most important person to her!” Authority evident in my voice.
Nate bows his head at me, “Forgive me, Lady Witch, I’m—“ Trevor, Hannah and I all break his apology with our laughter.
His confusion makes it more comical, “What’s so funny?”
Hannah gives Trevor a look as if to explain it, huffing his embarrassment away, “I may have also addressed her as Lady Witch when I first met her.”
Nate chuckles and we all enjoy the company for a moment before returning to business.
“So, as I’ve said, I have answers for you as promised. But I see you did not protect my sweet Stephen,” She looks about the meadow at the remains of her mate.
“We did as you said, I swear it on the mate bond,” My eyes speak truth, “I would never break our pact or risk the lives of any of our pack.”
Hannah nods, knowing I speak honestly, “I know, and for that I’m grateful.”
Confusions dawns on my mates and I, “How did you know we held up our end?” Trevor asks the question we’re all wondering.
“I told you some of my coven were trying to accomplish a task? Yes, well, someone reported to a few of my sisters the yesterday afternoon. I was able to follow to an extent, but I couldn’t get close enough to see clear faces since I would’ve been found,” Hannah explains.
“Go on, Han, tell us the rest of what you know,” I encourage her gently.
She smiles, I assume at my kindness, “There were two of my sisters and three of your pack members. I would know who they are by their voices or maybe even scent if I were close enough.” She assures us.
“Let’s go then,” Trevor holds his hands out for each of us to take.
We both accept and stand, “Alpha, I cannot go past this point without your welcome,” our witchy friend explains.
Nodding, Trevor does the unthinkable, “I, Alpha Trevor, invite you to join the Rouge pack, we will welcome you with open arms, provide you shelter and food always. I swear it by the moon goddess and Lilith,” he elongates his canine and draws blood from his palm.
Nathan and I watch with wide eyes while Hannah grins wider than I’ve ever seen a witch smile. She takes her finger nail and drags it down her palm, creating a bloody trail to form.
“I, Hannah the witch, accept your invitation to join the Rouge pack,” they press their bloodied palms together, “I promise by the moon goddess and Lilith to protect the pack like they were of my blood.”
I felt a surge run through me, as though both Eliza and I grew stronger. Nathan links me, “You felt that, right?”
I nod at him.
Trevor and Hannah drop hands and hug. I look confused as all hell at the situation before my eyes but nonetheless I’m ecstatic to have a new member of our pack.
“You two can relax, you did in fact feel that surge of energy. It was my bond being accepted into the pack,” Hannah explains as her and Trev release each other.
“Ahhh, okay.” I give them a wild, teasing expression and make my way for the trail back to the pack house.
I hear Trev and Hannah laugh at me as the crunching from the forest floor with each step they take. I make it about five steps before a loud thud hits the ground.
“Wait!” Trevor yells to stop Hannah from potentially murdering his brother.
I’ve just turned to see Hannah’s claws at the base of Nathan’s throat and right above his heart.
Making my way quickly to the two of them, I crouch down and extend my hands toward both of Han’s without touching them.
“Tell me why you want to hurt Nate, Hannah.” I command more aggressively than my demeanor appears.
She doesn’t move an inch, “It’s him,” she leans forward into Nate a bit, “He’s the traitor!”
