Now I was puzzled, not only by his words, but also by the seriousness of his tone when he said them. Much to my dismay, he did not answer me and seconds later the car stopped in front of my house and I was a bit, okay very disappointed that my time with him had expired. Before he could even tell me what he means by "my destiny". I gazed at my still front door, before my eyes returned to him. Weirdly enough the rain had stopped, in fact it looked like not a single drop of rain fell here. I stared at anything but him as I unbuckled my seatbelt, because he had tilted to my direction, his undivided attention was solely on me and he had pinned his eyes on me. I finally willed my eyes to him and suddenly became aware of just how minimum space there was between us. I forgot how to breath, but my flushed face was not all that conspicuous. Or at least I am hoping. "Thank you for the ride, sir." I muttered lowly, suffering the effect of his vehement gaze. I maintained eye contact, despite my insides bubbling and my nerves urging me to bolt out of the car before I embarrass myself. An indiscernible emotion flickered through his rather soulless eyes, before he held my face like in the dream and pulled me in for a kiss. I was so shocked when his lips delicately crashed into and merged with mine, that I did not reciprocate, I did not kiss him back, I just remained frozen until he pulled away. I could not believe what had just happened, that was the most unforeseen two second moment of my life! "Have a great night, love." I was mesmerised when he subtly licked his lips and his eyes took a darker shade. "I can't wait to make you mine for eternity." Am I dreaming again? He wants me to be his… For eternity! That can't be right, he's…. I was dumbfounded, awestruck, flabbergasted and I could not get a single word to leave my mouth. Against my will, I found myself mindlessly nodding my head and then proceeding to leave the car. I gaped dramatically as I stared at my home. Lucius Steed kissed me! I can't believe it! No! No! No! I just can't! And I didn't kiss him back… Does that mean he likes me in that way? But he's my teacher! I can't keep forgetting that! And Dom… And he is married! Yep the second thing I noticed when my eyes first feasted on him, was that wedding band. I, amongst plenty others have ever since been wondering who is the lucky woman is… Or maybe unlucky because there are a lot of thirsty bitches on the prowl, looking to sink their claws into him and keep him on the hook forever. And I am one of them? No.. no .. no… I am not a homewrecker.. any illicit deeds should not be more than a fantasy… But why would he look at me like that? Like… like an estranged lover? Why would he say such words? Love. Why does he call me that? Was I too slow to catch some signals? What signals?! There are no signals, were no signals! Perplexed beyond words, I turned to my back, just in time to witness his car vanish in thin air. No, like literally, it was on the road one second, the next it was gone. It had disappeared, not taken a corner beyond my range of sight. I vigorously rubbed my eyes and blinked multiple times just to make sure my eyes had not deceived me. I do not know what I just saw. How did that happen? And of course I had to be the one to see a whole car disappear without a trace, when people are already this close to concluding that I am either bewitched or in need of psychological intervention! My hand went to my ass in search of a pocket and that is when I made a startling discovery. I was wearing jean shorts- wait, I wore this skirt, my school uniform in the morning, when I woke up I was wearing shorts, I remember because I found my phone in the back pocket, then when I got into sir Steed's car, I was wearing my school skirt again- that's it, I need to stop thinking before my brain splits open. I had my keys dangling from my index finger and s**t, I had no pockets so that means I left my phone in his car! This is officially the worst day in history! Frustrated, I stabbed the key into the keyhole and opened the door. I was welcomed by silence and a little mess I left earlier as soon as I stepped into the foyer. I am an only child and with my parents away on a month long business trip, I am home alone. Most people would be thrilled to have the whole house to themselves, but I feel very vulnerable when alone, because I am a target. Because there is something after me, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. I shook off that feeling of dread and headed upstairs to my room. I perched on my panel chair for some minutes and pondered over my phone and what I was going to do to get it back today. At least it has a password and that will deny him access to my sensitive data. I am going to have to wait for tomorrow, I will have to get it from him at school, there is no other way. I brought a finger to my lips and toyed with my bottom lip, replaying the kiss in my mind. I still can't believe that he kissed me, it is all too surreal! His lips were everything I have ever imagined them to be. Despite him planting a sneaky one on me, I still felt very guilty because I loved every single second. With a sigh, I rose to my feet and decided to change out of my uniform so I can whip up something quick to eat. I stripped down to my bra and panties and sauntered over to my walk in closet and picked out a single article of clothing; a short cotton summer dress, which I tossed on the bed. I then hanged my skirt and tie, before I shivered and was incapable of focusing on anything else but that chilly breeze caressing my back, that brush of cold air seeping into my pores, inciting a counter reaction from my body. Goosebumps erupted on my skin from my engorged pores and I felt like every strand of hair on my body had stood to attention. I wrapped my arms around my body, but I was not allowed to marvel at the sudden drop in temperatures before the blare of my ringtone boomed. I instinctively rushed over to my bed, before the realization struck me and had me grounded just three inches away from the end of it. Now I was not just shocked, but I was horrified! My phone, the phone I knew I did not have with me when I entered the house, the phone I knew to be dead and unresponsive, was currently lying on my bed, ringing endlessly. How is this happening?! My mind went kaput, I was too scared to take another step forward and I was afraid to touch it, let alone answer it. I do not know when or how I amassed the sufficient amount of boldness to cover the remaining distance and hastily snatched it like it would suddenly disappear. As soon as I clasped it, it stopped ringing and the screen went blank. Fortunately It corporated and I unlocked it so I could get back to the person who had called, but there was no indication that someone had called me just a minute ago. My call history showed no missed call, nothing. So now I do not know who called me, why they were calling and how come there was no trace of that call. I felt beshrewed. Supernatural beings were at play. I have had my properties disappear before, but they have never reappeared. Like my grandmother's pendant, I always wore it, I never took it off, but I just went to bed one night and when I woke up, it was no longer around my neck. That was nine years ago and I still have not found it even to this day. My toys also vanished without explanation, so did the gifts I used to receive from a guy my parents used to joke about being my future husband, my prince charming. I used to get the most lavish, prodigiously priced gifts on my birthdays, on every birthday, until I was fourteen, but I have never once gotten a glimpse of this man my parents always spoke so vaguely about. I stared at my phone, examined it for a moment, before I decided to call Dom. "Hey babe." I drawled nervously, hoping he was not that mad at me for missing his very first championship match. I knew just how important that match was to him and just how much he wanted me to be there. I am such a terrible girlfriend. "Mabe, you sound a bit pale, what's going on, baby?" So he picked up on my smothered energy over the phone, I did not realise I was being that obvious. "I need you Dom." I whined childishly in an attempt to pat down his worries, but he still remained inquisitive. "Is anything wrong?" "Come spend the night with me, some weird s**t has been happening to me today and I am too scared to sleep in this huge ass house alone." "Hmmm.." Dom hummed, I could tell that he wanted me to go into detail, but he detained his questions. "I will be there in thirty minutes, I remembered that you still owe me a little treat." He purred salaciously and I furrowed my brows in confusion. "Huh?" "Listen baby, I have to go, Tesla is shouting for me." The bustle in the background attested to the rush. "Okay, but hurry up before this thing gets me." Albeit my dour voice giving away just how spooked I was, he still cackled amusedly and I frowned before ending the call.
