Ariella.

For the longest time i never spoke of my strange power, it seemed to have that my own parents despised me for having it but not enough to be worth anything to the government, so they could get payment for their daughter. On top of the hell that was my home life, entire education was filled with me covering bruises with make up and clothes. From either my father or the bullies from school all because of my looks aren’t the norm. Despite being completely natural even doctors over the years never believed my claims that my hair and eyes are natural. Aria however never judged me for my appearance or my humanity. She alone has stood by me throughout the years without question. Aria is more than just my best friend, she is my sister. Unfortunately i have always been picked on for one reason or another. “b***h! Guess who just asked me out!” She says excited pulling me out of my revere. She looks stunning in her white shortsleeved pantsuit with a gold belt a vibrant silk scarf around her throat in her favorite open toe shoes, Her hair pulled back in her usual neat bun. I put my index finger against my lips thinking to myself for a moment.“ Uh… Chris Hemsworth? You hussy!” I say winking at her . “ No!” She says laughing, “ Do you remember that Guy from the Starbucks near my apartment?” I think for a minute remembering a orange soul. “ hmm … wasn’t his name James, or Jake?” I question . “ YES! “ she cries excitedly. As she looks expectantly at me pleading with her eyes . I sigh “ you know thats not how it works with me Ari I can only get a color from meeting someone and only if i concentrate.” I tell her coming to her in the Kitchen. Sighing i feel bad that i cant give her the answer she is looking for. We all hope for our soul mates, and sometimes if i concentrate on someone i can see their souls color but thats it, however my dreams have been able to dream up soul matches, and usually from the art my dreams give me . “ Anyway isn’t the Dawning ceremony is in days.” I tell her. She looks at me , and rolls her eyes saying . “ yeah but only if you are one of the f*****g lucky ones” I take the coffee from her out stretched hand .“ exactly why they have these ceremonies every three months, it gives the Dyviners time to match as many couples they can.“
