The Real Lead
That afternoon, Ethan found something. it wasn't obvious, it wasn't big. but it was enough. A license plate partially visible from one of the cameras. He enhanced it, cleaned it, ran it through multiple systems. And then, it matched a registered fake identity, but linked to a location.Ethan stared at the screen his heart began to race."I've found you", he whispered downstairs. Harden felt something shift. That instinct again that pull.
Moments later Ethan walked in holding his laptop "I know where he is," he said everything stopped.
Crossing The Line
Theresa immediately stepped forward. "No," she said firmly. "we are not rushing into this." Ethan frowned "we're not rushing? we finally have something real". Harden stepped in between them "let me see" Ethan showed him everything, the plate number, the location, the pattern, harden studied it carefully. long silent focused. "it's not him" , harden said finally "it's not him", harden said finally. Ethan's face tightened "what?".
"it's too easy," harden continued "victor doesn't have frails like that" Ethan shook his head. "then why are they watching us?" harden looked at him. "Because they want us to find them." That realization hit differently. This wasn't a mistake it was a trap
The Decision
Night fell again. And this time, they didn't pretend things were norma. The three if them say together planning, carefully. "we don't want to go in blindly," harden said."we observe first". Theresa nodded slowly. "And we stay together." Ethan hesitated but agreed. For the first time they weren't reacting. They were choosing, but far away, victor smiled. "They're coming," he said softly.
The Location
The building stood at the edge of the city abandoned, silent, broken window, faded walls perfect. Harden parked at a distance. "ni sudeen moves," he said. They stepped out slowly. Every sound mattered. Every movement counted. Ethan's heart pounded. But it didn't stop. Grace stayed close to Theresa holding her hand tightly. Inside, the air was cold, still too still.
Inside The Trap
They moved deeper inside. Step by step carefully.Then- a sound. A door slamming behind them. Lights flickered. And a voice echoed. "I was wondering when you'd arrive,"
Face To Face Again
He stepped out slowly unharmed smiling."missed me?" he asked. Theresa's grip tightened. Ethan stepped forward slightly. Harden didn't move. "let's end this," harden said. Victor laughed " oh..... we're just getting started."
Victor walked slowly around them calm, relaxed. " you still think this is about revenge?" he said. Harden's eyes narrowed. "Then what is it?" victor smiled. "This was never about you." silence filled the room. "There are bigger things," victor continued. "Bigger people." Theresa felt her heart tighten. "What are you talking about?" Victor leaned closer. "You really don't know?"
Suddenly, gunshots, chaos, smoke, movement. Victor disappeared again. And this time,he left something behind. A message "This isn't the end."
What They Didn't Know
The sound of gunfire still echoed in harden's ears long after the building fell silent. Smoke drifted slowly through the broken windows, curling into the night air like something alive, something unwilling to disappear. The place felt abandoned again, but not empty. Not after what had just happened. Harden stood still for a moment, his breathing controlled but heavy. His eyes scanned every corner, every shadow, every possible exit victor could have used nothing. He was gone again.
"Dad....." Ethan's voice broke through the silence. Harden turned immediately. Ethan stood near the entrance, his chest rising and falling quickly. He wasn't panicking, but he was close to it. "He planned this" Ethan said. "He wanted us here." Harden nodded slowly. "Yes." Theresa stepped closer, hee face tense; her eyes searching Harden's. "But why?" she asked. "What is he trying to prove?" harden didn't answer right away. Because the truth was beginning to firm in his mind., and it wasn't simple. Victor wasn't just playing games. He was building something. "Look at this," Etan said suddenly. He held up his phone, showing something he had found near the back of the building. A device, small hidden recording. Theresa's heart skipped. "He was watching us" she whispered. Harden's expression darkened. "No," he said quietly. "He was showing someone else." silence fell heavy cold. That was when it changed. This wasn't victor anymore, this was bigger.
