“How much longer do we have?” I squinted down at August, my heart swelling. My arm that had been wrapped around him for the past two hours was finally begging to be free.
Lifting my hand from his back, I checked my watch. “We still have about three hours left in the air, buddy. That’s why you need to get some sleep.”
Maverick’s head moved on my chest, his body limp from exhaustion. He was sweating me through and through, but I wasn’t moving him anytime soon. No siree. Now that they were back in my care, it was going to be hard to let them out of my sight ever again.
